One huge Mal and Simon fic

Posting on both [info]fireflyslash and [info]the_pretty_fits

At last - the Mal/Simon fic I started writing ten months ago is complete. I say 'at last' but really I'm sad. I'm going to miss it.

If you'd like to read it, links to the chapters (in order) are below. It starts slightly before the TV series and ends four years after it. I have not included the comics or the BDM.

Not every chapter is beautifully beta-ed. The ones that are were whipped into shape by [info]wedjateye.

RATING: Overall NC-17.

Finally! The complete listing! The archive at Glow is very unforgiving and does NOT yield all chapters in a search on "Trauma Medicine", so thank you for this.

And it rocks completely, by the way. Deep, true to the show, moving, and incredibly hot there especially toward the end, and OMG so much angst, so very wonderful.

Here's a hug for the hollow feeling.

Wow. Just wow. Seriously one of the best S/M fics I have ever read. So long, and plotty, and I love the way you incorporated the series so well, and seamlessly...I can't really think of what else to say except wow.

It's taking me awhile to work my way through this story, but so far I'm LOVING it. You write so well and I like the way you're filling in story gaps with your story. Perfect.

This is amazing. I love the timeline you have, with the multiple plot-lines running through it all the way through the series (and before and after). True to the characters, angsty and sweet and moving, and really *really* hot... Its not that I don't love ficlets too, but a long, plotty, Mal/Simon really is a thing of beauty! Do you mind if I link to here from my rec list?

So I just found this, and I had things to do this afternoon. I really did. Things that I think might have been important, if only I could remember what they were.

*checks clock* I should go to bed now.

That was... amazing. Epic in all those mythical and long-reaching ways, but also so upclose and raw/personal that I had to go back and read it all a second time.

I suck at the whole feedbacking thing so I'm going to make this short (and sweet?), mostly because I can't think of anything useful to say. (Am ded from fic :P)
This rocked! So far I have only read short and semi-long firefly fics but like [info]black_eyedgirl said; a long, plotty Mal/Simon is a thing of beauty.

This was a truly fantastic story.

I've been looking for this type of fic since I first fell head over heels in love with Firefly; too many jump into ‘and then they had sex’, but you take your time establishing the story and slowly explaining the 'why' of the pairing, and it's just glorious. Thank you so much.

I love that it's very much an ensemble fic, and that Inara and Kaylee are not easily disposed of or made hateful. It's obvious you're truly fond of all the characters. Gah, I just adored this, as you can probably tell from the length of this! Indeed, I stayed up all night reading it! You create such a wonderful tension between Mal and Simon, and I was vastly relieved to find the happy epilogue. *grins broadly* Also, I think you gave me a Kaylee/Jayne kink, dammit.

What on earth do I say?! omfg this was amazing. Had me laughing aloud, gritting my teeth, gaping, and teary. Abso-fucking-lutely a-maze-ing. Incredible story, so very, very plotty, and character driven with the right balance of sticking with the cannon storyline and deviating from it. I appreciate all the background for the characters, it's amazing and adds a wonderful, believable depth to everyone. Huzzah for everything! I'm still mind-boggled as to how you could stick with it for so long! Snaps for you! ;) Oh, and even though I had an 11 o'clock class today I stayed up reading this until 6 a.m. last night because i couldn't just *stop* with only five chapters to go!

As for the staying with it - it was more like the other way round: it stayed with me. I love that pairing so very much.

!!!! This was so good.
I'm very very bad at feedback, so here goes nothing:
I loved how the original episodes were intertwined with the story, it was just perfect!
Your writing is very nice, the action flows really well and every character is spot on. I really like how you'll, for instance, write a paragraph in a certain voice and that voice has it's own kind of grammar like the way they speak, I know the name of that figure of speach in portuguese but I really can't explain that in english. But you do it very well!
I was ever so glad when I read that you had decided to write more after that 22nd chapter - glad the story led you to the 23rd! It would be so frustrating to have such a sad ending ;P
All in all this was very good, saved and bookmarked and all now ^___^

That has got to be the best Mal/Simon I've read yet. Though you did have me worrying at the end of chapter 22.

Also, I love the way you wove T.S. Elliott's The Hollow Men into the story. That poem very much does read as about Mal, doesn't it? And all the other literary references. They were just so very right for River.

Thank you so much! I'm really glad you enjoyed it and I was especially pleased that that you got the references. I was astounded at how much The Hollow Men sounds like it comes from Mal. I didn't really know the poem very well before writing the fic - it was just one of a few references floating around my brain - but the more I looked at it, the more appropriate it seemed. I'd love to know whether Joss would agree!

Um, it keeps telling me I don't have access rights to view this. I just started watching firefly recently over netflix and fell in love with it. and I like Simon and Mal together a lot. Can you tell me how to get access?

I was recently rec'd this - I'm a new Firefly fan - watched the episodes on Netflix.

I love this fic; in fact, so much so that when I was away from home on the weekend had to borrow a friend's computer to read it again. I wish there were more fics like this one out there!

I just read this story, I stayed up all night Friday night to read it and it is AMAZING and BRILLIANTLY WELL DONE. The way you added to scenes from the show to change the meaning of some of the scenes and just give them more depth is so well done! The backstory for Mal is tragic but so well done. Simon--oh, how I love Simon, and even more the way you write him longing for Mal.
The scene where Mal takes Simon's vest is one of my favorites.
Also, the scene where Inara let's Simon see how she feels and they know they're both in love..... Wow.
And Inara realizing she can't sleep with Mal after Zoe tells her about Mal--oh my god.
Amazing story.
